The XVIII Airborne Corps Legal Aid Office will be closed on the following days:
August 25, 2023 – Legion Training Holiday – Closed
September 1, 2023 – Legion training holiday – closed
September 4, 2023 – Labor Day weekend – Closed
The office is closed on Federal Corps and XVIII Airborne Corps training holidays. We also close periodically for military training commitments.
Legal aid office opening hours:
Monday: 0900-1600 (appointments only)
Tuesday: 0900-1600 (appointments only)
Wednesday: 0900-1600 (Wills must be present at 0900 hours)
Thursday: 0900-1600 (Family Law only – Divorce/Separation briefing starts at 0900 hours, this briefing is mandatory) You must be present at 0900 hours
Friday: 0900-1400 (appointments only)
Closed for lunch 1200-1300
Military ID is required to make an appointment. Therefore, appointments cannot be made over the phone.

Please note that we schedule appointments after two weeks. Once the schedule is full, we will not be able to take appointments until we have seen all clients scheduled in the previous two weeks. There are exceptions for circumstances where a customer cannot wait for two weeks.
Military identification is required to set up an appointment, and therefore appointments cannot be made over the phone.

We provide legal services to Fort Liberty and the local military community.
We are located in the Customer Service Desk in Wing D of the Soldier Support Center, First Floor. If you enter the Soldier Support Center through the main doors, turn left at the information desk and go down to the lobby. Customer Services will be on your left opposite Retirement Services.
assignments: Appointments are made on the first day of the working week starting at 0900 hours. Appointments are made no more than two weeks in advance. Appointments must be made in person to check eligibility and an appointment cannot be made over the phone.
If you are represented by a civil attorney in any matter in which you seek legal assistance, you must obtain a written waiver or letter of consent before we can speak to you.
The following cases are handled on an appointment basis, for all active and retired employees and their family members:
- Consumer Protection Act
- Landlord/tenant complaints
- Open Educational Resources (OER) and NCOER (NCOER) appeals.
- Due line investigations
- wills
- Identity theft
- Flippel’s rebuttals
- Name changes
- Debt collection/credit reporting problems
- Unsigned contracts
- Notes responding to reprimands
- Immigration and naturalization
- Service Members Civil Relief Act (SCRA)
- Other IAW regulations
Legal aid attorneys cannot provide advice on the following topics: military justice matters, civil criminal cases, private business activities (including landlords), employment matters (other than USERRA), or litigation against the United States.
Wills/estate planning:
Advance Living Directives (living wills), health care powers of attorney, and enduring powers of attorney are available on an attendance basis or in conjunction with an appointment.
- Life Wills allow you to make decisions about life support.
- Health care powers of attorney allow you to designate someone to make medical decisions for you if you become unable to make decisions for yourself.
- Power of attorney allows you to designate someone to take over for you if you become incapacitated.
