The Harry and Lavon Webb Education Center, part of the Jefferson Center Foundation, announced the appointment Brian Waits As the new Director of Education. S/he will be responsible for supervising all educational programmes, including Music Lab, Outreach Outloud, Student Performance Ensemble, Jazz Institute, Artist Residencies and Workshops/Master Classes.

Virginia Tech College of Science named Sarah Reznikoff As head of the Mathematics Department. Reznikoff began her position on August 10 at Kansas State University, where she is a professor of mathematics, graduate program director, and previously served as interim associate dean for the graduate school.
